Program Description:

A supervised visitation program that provides a safe, therapeutic environment for children and their parents. Visits are monitored by a therapeutic monitor and observational notes are taken for every visit. The therapeutic monitor works with the non-custodial parent to assess needs and then develops goals designed to improve parenting time between themselves and the child/ren and to help develop parenting skills. These services are appropriate when domestic violence or high conflict is an issue, when a parent has been estranged from the child, when substance abuse is a concern, when there are access interference concerns, or for any other issue deemed to necessitate supervision.

Access to Service:

Court order is required for therapeutic visitation. Visits are limited to a weekly one hour visit, unless stated otherwise in court order. Two hours weekly is the maximum amount of time allowed for therapeutic  visitations. Parties and/or attorneys must contact Connections at (816) 881-1813 to schedule an intake interview with the Program Operations Coordinator. This service is provided free of charge.

Location and Time of Service:

Services are offered at our safe, child-friendly, and convenient location.
