Wedding Ceremonies

Judges of the Jackson County Circuit Court are authorized to perform a marriage ceremony according to Missouri Statute 451.100 which states, “Marriages may also be solemnized, without compensation, by any judge, including a municipal judge.”

If you would like to request that a judge perform your wedding ceremony, you must contact the judge directly to make the request. A listing of the judges in the Jackson County Circuit Court is located on the home page of the Court’s website under the tab Our Judges. It is suggested that you e-mail or phone the judge’s judicial administrative assistant to make the request.

Judges are not obligated to perform a marriage ceremony and do so based upon their availability.
