Supervised Visitation

Program Description:

A supervised visitation program that provides a safe environment for children and their parents. Visits are monitored by staff and attendance notes are taken for every visit. No observational reports are prepared. A Sheriffs Deputy is present for every visit. These services are appropriate when domestic violence or high conflict is an issue, when a parent has been estranged from the child, when substance abuse is a concern, when there are access interference concerns, or for any other issue deemed to necessitate supervision of parent-child contact.

Access to Service:

A court order is required for supervised visitation. Visits are limited to a weekly one-hour visit, unless stated otherwise in the court order. Two hours weekly is the maximum amount of time allowed for visitations. Parties and/or attorneys must contact Connections at (816) 881-1813 to schedule an intake interview with the Program Operations Coordinator. This service is provided free of charge.
