Biography

Commissioner Daniel C. Berezoski was appointed to Division 40 by the judges of the 16th Judicial Circuit at a meeting of the court en banc on June 23, 2023.

At the time of his appointment, Commissioner Berezoski was an attorney with the law firm of Husch Blackwell.  He joined the firm in 2015 as its pro bono attorney and handled the cases assigned to the firm by the Jackson County Family Court.  In that position, he primarily represented indigent parents in abuse and neglect, and termination of parental rights cases.  He also received appointments from the Family Court to represent youths in delinquency cases and certification proceedings, and appointments to serve as a guardian ad litem for children. 

Prior to that, he served as an attorney with the Office of the Juvenile Officer at the Family Court from 2012 to 2015, and with the Missouri Department of Social Services from 2011 to 2012.

Commissioner Berezoski was one of the recipients of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges “Impact of the Year Award” in 2021.  He was honored by Missouri Lawyers Weekly in 2020, 2021 and 2022 as one of 30 lawyers in the state in the publication’s Power 30 List of Family Law attorneys.     

He has served on the board of Kansas City Youth Court, the KCMBA Domestic Violence Alliance Planning Committee, the Missouri Psychotropic Medication Advisory Committee and many Family Court committees.  

Commissioner Berezoski received his undergraduate degree in Genetics at Texas A & M University.  He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School.
