Judge John G. Gromowsky was appointed as an associate circuit judge of the 16th Judicial Circuit of Missouri on February 21, 2025, by Gov. Mike Kehoe.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Gromowsky earned his law degree from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago in 1998. He was a law clerk to Circuit Judge John R. O’Malley, then joined the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, where he worked for three years.
He left to join an insurance defense firm and later started his own criminal defense firm before returning to the prosecutor’s office in 2021. He served in multiple roles during his prosecutorial career, including as a Drug Task Force Prosecutor, Community Prosecutor, and Violent Crimes Unit attorney.
