Important information:
  • Must be registered as a bidder (see Bidder Information) and have a bidder card at the time of the sale.
  • When purchasing a property, you can pay with cash, cashier check, money order, or make a deposit with the Civil Process Department.
  • Cashier’s check and money orders need to be made out to the Jackson County Court Administrator.
  • The sale is generally conducted in mid-August on the courthouse step, so please check the weather and dress accordingly, bring a lawn chair, and water for hydration.
  • All sales are final and sold as is, which means that the buyer is responsible for hazardous materials, additional taxes owed, etc. So, the bidder should do their own research on properties before bidding and/or consult an attorney (see the Jackson County Collections Department website for "Buying Tax Foreclosure Property on the Courthouse Steps for more information).
