The Legal Department provides legal advice on behalf of the Court Administrator to the Judges, Commissioners and the Unit of Service and Judgment Enforcement.
In most cases, Court employees must not provide legal advice to the public. However, State law does allow the Court to assist with small claims and with protective orders in matters of adult abuse and child protection.
