                                            The Honorable Michelle Dixon                                                                                      Family Court Commissioner, Division 45                                                                                           16th Judicial Circuit of Missouri

            Family Court Commissioner Michelle P Dixon was appointed on November 17, 2023 by the judges of the 16th Judicial Circuit at a meeting of the Court en Banc to serve as Commissioner of Division 45.   She will hear juvenile matters in the Family Court Division.

            At the time of her appointment, Commissioner Dixon was serving as a staff attorney with the Office of the Guardian ad Litem, having joined the office in 2020.  She represented children whose parents faced allegations of child abuse and neglect.   She also represented children who were detained pending disposition for delinquency.

Prior to that, she was in private practice as the founding and managing attorney of MP Law, LLC from 2010 to 2020. Dixon had a diverse solo legal practice which included representation as guardian ad litem in domestic matters, civil litigation, business formation, nonprofit governance and orders of protection.

She earned a B.S. degree in Business Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Kansas School of Law.

She is a member of the National Association of Counsel for Children, the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City, the Jackson County Bar Association, and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. Commissioner Dixon is active in Christian ministry and community outreach.  She serves on several executive and advisory boards.
