Community Reintegration Group Home

The Community Reintegration Group Home (CRGH) is a 10 bed residential facility operated under Field Services for male juveniles who are deemed to have violated a condition of probation or a Court order, stepping down from Hilltop, or those transiting to other residential placement that are in need of residential care.

The goal of the sanctions program is to reduce the recidivism and necessity to place or return youth to a more secure residential setting. The aim is to assist these youth to make constructive changes in their lives so that they may remain living successfully in their home and communities.

The CRGH provides a structured program that constructively occupies the residents day from morning until bedtime at night.

Youth that are referred to the facility for long term placement (residential sanctions, detainment, or transitional) attend their home based school when transportation can be arranged. Otherwise, residents attend school at the Jackson House (operated by the Kansas City Missouri School District).

During the evenings and on weekends, residents participate in Mutual Help (EQUIP) and New Freedom Groups.  These are evidence-based, cognitive behavioral programs found to be effective in assisting delinquent youth to think and behave in a more rewarding and cooperative manner.  Some topic include is Avoiding Dangerous Places, Breaking Bad Habits, Problem Recognition, Risk & Consequences, and Triggers. In addition, residents participate in community service projects which afford those who owe restitution an opportunity to meet this obligation.  Organized recreation, which promotes positive peer interaction and physical fitness, is incorporated into the daily activities.

The CRGH cultivates collaborative relationship with numerous community organizations where the youth participate in recreation activities, fitness and community service
