Biography

Jerri J. Zhang was appointed Deputy Probate Commissioner by Circuit Judge Mark A. Styles, Jr. of the Probate Division on September 30, 2016. 

Deputy Commissioner Zhang’s career has been focused on public service. At the time of her appointment, she was an attorney with the Jackson County Counselor’s Office where she prosecuted petitions for involuntary detention and represented Jackson County in civil litigation.  Prior to holding that position, she served as legal counsel for the Jackson County Public Administrator where she managed the estates of incapacitated and disabled individuals, minor conservatorships, and decedent estates. She has also worked as legal counsel for the Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission and as Coordinator of Diversity Programs and Academic Success at the University of Missouri School of Law.  Deputy Commissioner Zhang has also been an active member in the legal community through The Missouri Bar, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Asian American Bar Association of Kansas City, Association of Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City, and the American Bar Association. 

Deputy Commissioner Zhang received her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. She also received her Bachelor of Journalism Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
