BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY:

Basic Function and Responsibility:

The assistant director of court financial services supports the director and chief financial officer in overseeing court financial operations and personnel. Responsibilities include managing budgeting, grants, investments, requisitions, and related financial services. The position also assists with audits, financial reporting, and coordination of banking services. Additionally, the assistant director ensures compliance with statutory requirements, court policies, and best business practices aligned with organizational goals.

Appointing Authority and Supervision Received:

The chief financial officer is the appointing authority. The assistant director receives direct supervision by the director of the department.

Supervision Exercised:

This position is directly responsible for the supervision of the department personnel.

Characteristic and Assigned Duties: (The following duties are representative of the position and do not include all duties which may be performed.)

Assists with management of personnel and operational processes in the department of court financial services.

Manages court financial processes in accordance with all applicable laws, statutes, ordinances, regulations, and court policies for all appropriated funds, grants, and non-appropriated funds.

Provides recommendations regarding financial and grant protocols to the director and chief financial officer.


Assists with reviewing and reporting the status of court accounts and other financial services monthly and as otherwise directed.


Assists the director in the coordination of the yearly audit and regular review of court finances.


Assists managing delinquent land tax financial processes.


Prepares responses to requests for information as directed by the director.


Provides support to court committees as directed by the director.


Perform other duties as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of accepted practices for all court-related budgeting, banking, investments, financial management and reporting aspects.

Knowledge of court operations and policies.


Knowledge and skill in managing personnel.


Ability to apply financial principles and specialized knowledge related to court needs.


Ability to professionally report court financial and operational information in written form and oral presentations.


Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the judiciary, court administration, and other stakeholders.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus five years of experience in financial services management.
