POSITION PURPOSE: To provide direct supervision of the Process Server Supervisor and the Execution Deputies and indirect/direct supervision over Process Servers. Assist with managing and providing for the development of the Civil Process Department field staff personnel and supervision of the service of process and the execution of court orders in Jackson County.

50% - Directly and/or indirectly, with the assistance of the Process Server Supervisor, provide direct and indirect supervision and management of field staff personnel regarding the daily coordination of service of process, protection orders (including ex parte and full orders), and execution of writs (including attachments, replevins, garnishments, levies, evictions, and other writs).
· Advise, assist and consult with Director to formulate, implement and sanction operational policies and procedures. · Address with the Process Server Supervisor the need to ensure departmental goals, standards, operating procedures, and systems are current and adhered to by department members. · Draft recommendations for development and revision of policies and procedures and submit to Director for approval. · Recognize, investigate and resolve a variety of operational problems. · Forecast and prepare for immediate and short-term needs and objectives and provide recommendations and input for long-range needs and objectives. · Advise and train field personnel and other interested parties on court policy and procedures.
SUPERVISION BY: General work duties are reviewed by Assistant Director, Civil Process.
SERVICE RESPONSIBILITY:
INTERNAL: Court and County Legal Counsels, Directors, and Judicial Records staff.
EXTERNAL: Attorneys, plaintiffs, defendants, and Law Enforcement agencies. Ensure timely delivery of service of process and execution of court orders.
PRIMARY EQUIPMENT, TOOLS & MATERIALS USED: Computer, copier/printer/scanner/fax, telephone, keys, various reports, and forms, computer-generated or handwritten reports, forms, letters and other documents (which involve those of a legal nature), departmental policies and procedures manuals, vehicle, GPS equipment, and local maps, firearm, and OC spray (Oleoresin Capsicum).
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EXPERIENCE: Four years’ experience in law enforcement or a closely related field, including three years in a supervisory/management capacity.
