POSITION PURPOSE AND EXAMPLES OF WORK:

POSITION PURPOSE: To perform advanced clerical work in a specific area of case processing, involving the filing, processing and disposition of cases.

MAJOR TASK STATEMENTS AND REPRESENTATIVE ACTIVITIES (percentage of time):

40% - Review legal documents for completeness, adequacy and accuracy; determines processing required and takes necessary action.


20% - Determine docket schedule and court date; review and correct dockets.
20% - Perform data entry of initial/updated case information and activity; prepare & process forms, orders, etc.
10% - Answer inquiries from general public, attorneys, employees and relevant parties, both in person and over the telephone, concerning cases.
10% - Perform related duties; sit in on court proceedings; compile and maintain attorney list; assist, send out or Distribute orders and other documents; perform photocopying, and perform related work.
SPECIFIC EXAMPLES OF WORK:
SUPERVISION OF: None.
SUPERVISION BY: Supervisor of area to which assigned provides direct supervision; refers unusual problems and conflicts; work is reviewed by direct observation, feedback and results of assignments.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILITY:
INTERNAL: All levels of Court employees.

PRIMARY EQUIPMENT, TOOLS & MATERIALS USED: Computer, keyboard, telephone, copier/printer/scanner/fax, audiotape machine; keys, various reports and forms, computer generated or handwritten documents.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
