Position Title:Accountant - Temporary Assignment

Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday

Funded by State/County: State Paid Position

Pay Frequency: Semi-monthly

Hourly Pay Rate $17.78 per hour

Assignment Starts: as soon as possible

Anticipated Length of Assignment: Currently anticipated to be until November 2013 and possibly into early 2014; temporary positions are dependent upon need, availability of funds and individual performance.

Duties Involve: Varied and full-functioning Accounting work involving the application of basic bookkeeping principles and practices to a variety of financial records. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts; maintain accounting data and files; research financial transactions; input and retrieve accounting data in both computerized and manual systems; prepare spreadsheets and create and modify reports; document procedures and review and evaluate internal controls and recommend changes; perform other related fiscal duties. Duties include working on a special project in the Accounting Office.

Basic Skills needed 4 year college degree in Accounting, Business Administration , Finance or directly related field with an emphasis in Accounting. One (1) year experience in bookkeeping, accounting or auditing capacity or directly related experience. Experience in accounting, spreadsheet and word processing software. ( Additional experience may be substituted for education on a year to year basis ) Knowledge of fund accounting and related computer technology and ability to apply to varied accounting transactions; experience in spreadsheet development and utilization and the management of electronic data files. * Length of assignment is dependent on available funds and is currently anticipated to end by November 2013 and possibly into early 2014. Exhaustion of funds prior to that date will result in the end of the assignment.
