To provide timely, efficient, and professional service of a variety of legal papers to individuals, businesses, and governmental agencies.
MAJOR TASK STATEMENTS & REPRESENTATIVE ACTIVITIES (Percentage of Time): (The information contained herein is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the job; other tasks may be assigned. 60% - Serve legal papers on persons and businesses located in Jackson County. Post or serve eviction notices.
· Complete notes and legal forms to accurately record date and time of activities and other occurrences.
· Plan daily workload and route to facilitate the service of process with a minimum of travel time and mileage. · Complete mileage reports, time logs, incident reports, and other reports.
· Serve as a witness and provide testimony in Court regarding measures taken to serve process.
SUPERVISION BY: Director, Assistant Director, Manager, and Supervisor, Civil Process Servers at Circuit Court. Provide general supervision.
SERVICE RESPONSIBILITY:
INTERNAL: Minimal requirement.
EXTERNAL: Serves court documents and answers inquiries regarding service and court procedures.
PRIMARY EQUIPMENT, TOOLS & MATERIALS USED:
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EXPERIENCE: One year work experience in law enforcement, service of process, or other directly related fields.
