Biography

Molly M. Merrigan was appointed Family Drug Court Commissioner by the Circuit Court in January 1999. She is the Court's first full-time Family Drug Court Commissioner. Commissioner Merrigan earned her law degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City in 1990, and her Bachelor's Degree from Rockhurst College in 1977.

Commissioner Merrigan was an assistant prosecuting attorney for Jackson County from 1995 until her appointment. While with the Prosecutor's Office, she was the lead attorney in Drug Court. She also served as a part-time defense attorney with the Drug Court from October 1993 - January 1995. Previously, Commissioner Merrigan worked at a residential drug and alcohol treatment facility and was also employed by the Missouri Board of Probation and parole during the 1980s.
